J.E. Kardinál George Pell GCLJ sa vrátil do domu svojho otca.

IL CARDINALE GEORGE PELL, GCLJ, E’ TORNATO ALLA CASA DEL PADRE

E‘ morto a Roma, nella Città del Vaticano, lo scorso 11 gennaio 2023, all’età di 81 anni, il cardinale australiano George Pell, prefetto emerito della Segreteria per l’Economia, dopo essere stato arcivescovo di Melbourne e di Sydney. Era cappellano di Gran Croce dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme.

Il porporato non ha superato le complicazioni causate da un intervento chirurgico all’anca.

Il card. Pell era stato posto da papa Francesco, il 24 febbraio 2014, alla guida della nuova Segreteria per l’Economia e di fatto a capo delle riforme economiche intraprese dal Pontefice.

Era membro dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme (Gran Priorato d’Australia) da 35 anni.

CARDINAL GEORGE PELL, GCLJ, HAS RETURNED TO THE HOUSE OF THE FATHER

Australian Cardinal George Pell, Prefect Emeritus of the Secretariat for the Economy, after having been Archbishop of Melbourne and Sydney, died in Rome, Vatican City, on 11 January 2023, at the age of 81. He was Chaplain of the Grand Cross of the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem.

The cardinal did not survive complications from hip surgery.

Card. Pell had been placed by Pope Francis, on 24 February 2014, at the head of the new Secretariat for the Economy and de facto head of the economic reforms undertaken by the Pontiff.

He had been a member of the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem (Grand Priory of Australia) since 35 years.
