CONSACRAZIONE EPISCOPALE DEL MOLTO REVERENDO OTTAR SVEIN MIKAEL MYRSETH, ECLJ,

VESCOVO DELLA CHIESA CATTOLICA NORDICA (NCC) ORDINARIO DELLA DIOCESI SCANDINAVA

Lo scorso mese di ottobre Ottar Mikael Myrseth, ECLJ, che nel prossimo mese di gennaio riceverà l’investitura come membro dell’Ordine presso il Gran Baliato di Sicilia, è stato finalmente ordinato vescovo della Chiesa cattolica nordica. L’ordinazione, originariamente prevista per aprile 2020 negli Stati Uniti, era stata rinviata più volte a causa della pandemia ed è stata infine spostata in Norvegia con il vescovo Roald Nikolai come consacratore, come pure era stata rinviata la sua investitura nell’Ordine già prevista per il mese di luglio di quest’anno.

Nel suo saluto, il vescovo Ottar Mikael, che ha assunto il ruolo di Ordinario della Diocesi scandinava della NCC, ha evidenziato una triplice visione per la Chiesa: „Risvegliare le persone alla fede cristiana, aiutare i credenti a sopravvivere come minoranza cristiana, e mostrare la strada alla fede della Chiesa universale“.

Il nuovo vescovo è stato celebrato con i saluti e i doni dei rappresentanti del Consiglio Cristiano Norvegese, della Chiesa Cattolica Romana e della Chiesa Norvegese, così come della famiglia, degli amici, delle congregazioni e dei consacratori.

Ottar Mikael Myrseth ha compiuto gli studi teologici presso la Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society di Oslo e nel 1978 ha ricevuto l’ordinazione sacerdotale nella Chiesa di Norvegia (luterana).

Nel 2001 ha lasciato la Chiesa di Norvegia e si è unito alla Chiesa cattolica nordica, assumendo le funzioni di Vicario della parrocchia di Sant’Olav ad Aalesund.

Eletto eletto vescovo nel 2020 e come arciprete mitrato aveva già la responsabilità amministrativa della NCC in Scandinavia.

BISHOP OF THE NORDIC CATHOLIC CHURCH (NCC)

ORDINARY OF THE SCANDINAVIAN DIOCESE

Last October, Ottar Mikael Myrseth, ECLJ, who will be invested as a member of the Order at the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily in January, was finally ordained bishop of the Nordic Catholic Church. The ordination, originally scheduled for April 2020 in the United States, had been postponed several times because of the pandemic and was finally moved to Norway with Bishop Roald Nikolai as consecrator, as well as his investiture in the Order, already scheduled for July this year.

In his greeting, Bishop Ottar Mikael, who has assumed the role of Ordinary of the NCC Scandinavian Diocese, highlighted a threefold vision for the Church: ‚To awaken people to the Christian faith, to help believers survive as a Christian minority, and to show the way to the faith of the universal Church‘.

The new bishop was celebrated with greetings and gifts from representatives of the Norwegian Christian Council, the Roman Catholic Church and the Norwegian Church, as well as family, friends, congregations and consecrators.

Ottar Mikael Myrseth completed his theological studies at the Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society in Oslo and was ordained a priest in the Church of Norway (Lutheran) in 1978.

In 2001 he left the Church of Norway and joined the Nordic Catholic Church, taking up the position of Vicar of St. Olav’s parish in Aalesund.

He was elected bishop in 2020 and as a miter archpriest already had administrative responsibility for the NCC in Scandinavia.
